The Fruitful Season

Another week has flown by and I can’t be the only one thinking… how is it already the end of MARCH?! I am amazed and awestruck 😍 at all God has done in these three months of 2025! Truly it is a fruitful season! In John 4:34-36, Jesus said to His disciples, “…My meat is to do the will of Him that sent me, and to finish His work. 35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and [then] cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. 36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.”

Reaping is hard work; but everything that’s of value takes hard work. Jesus said, “he that reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit unto life eternal.” What a trade off! The seeds that God has planted according to His will for us in Christ Jesus often take considerable time to bring forth fruit/grain/harvest. One of the most exciting things about serving the King of kings is that you usually have no idea when you’re about to be called up to work for Him. The task is set before us suddenly and we can stare with wide eyes in realization 😱, “The King has asked me to do something for Him!” Of course, we always check in with our Master in prayer, “Are you really calling me to this?” To which, if He were like us, (and praise God He isn’t!) He would point to chapter and verse reference, “MY SHEEP 🐑 KNOW MY VOICE 🔊…” but He doesn’t; instead He lovingly reassures us, “YES, I WANT YOU. 🫵” In Luke 10:2 Jesus tells 70 appointed disciples, “…The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He would send forth labourers into His harvest.” I believe that this prayer that He instructed those 70 (just like 70 were chosen by Moses in Exodus 24) is still proving fruitful today. Laborers are still coming forth. The fields are still being worked. In laboring and harvesting the fruits He has shown forth in righteousness, we rejoice and it is a glorious time, but boy, is His strength ever needed. Watch the video below on all that ancient harvesting entailed.

There are so many steps in the process of harvesting God’s way.

First, you must be in the field. Second, you must do it the way He has instructed (He is the foreman!). Third, you must be willing to get dirty. Fourth, you must have strength and endurance. Fifth, you must work with others. Sixth, you must complete the task. Seventh, upon completion comes the rest.

And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both He that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.”
Psalm 126:6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves [with him].

Hebrews 10:35-37 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. 36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. 37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

Hebrews 12:1-3 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset [us], and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of [our] faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

Hang in there, rest in the Lord, and be ready to receive the promise!
