It seems that “spring fever” has struck and that got me thinking… having a fever isn’t a good thing! A fever means illness; a fever means there’s a ne’er do well in our body and they need to leave! A fever means we are unwell! In the light of last week’s thought about time management, I came to an understanding in surviving a ridiculously busy week. There are things we must do (“I’ve gotta go to work” 🫡), things we can choose to do ( “I did laundry last week” 😐), and things we really don’t have to do (“this garage really needs organizing” 😒) . Letting those things that really aren’t totally necessary rule over us really can cause a lot of undue stress– and guess what? That gives us a spiritual fever! We can become so focused on the minute details of life that we forget to do one important thing… LIVE! The Word of God says that if I walk in the Spirit then I won’t fulfill the lusts of the flesh [Gal 5:16] and if I live in the Spirit, then I should also walk in the Spirit [Gal 5:25]. There are times when we can get so busy that we can’t even walk and chew gum, let alone properly LIVE in the Spirit if we don’t even have time for God! That crazy, fever pitch, boiling point of stress hits suddenly when you cry out (or scream 😩), “God please help me, I’m drowning here!” And there He is in all His mercy, reassuring you, “My grace is sufficient for you.” In that moment He gently reminds us that WE ARE HUMAN. We are not Him! We cannot be everywhere at once, knowing all things, all powerful, and all accomplishing, working all things in perfection for everyone around us. Let God be God and you be you. It is unobtainable for us to do it all, so just stop for a moment and breathe. Okay, maybe not that much, or you’ll hyperventilate, just nice and easy. Take time this week for a praise break. Seriously, there is nothing as refreshing as getting in His presence, not to mention, it comes with fullness of joy, and that joy is your strength. Psalm 16:11 and Nehemiah 8:10 is a combo meal. You can’t have one without the other. When you’re done and feeling refreshed, do something you enjoy! Whatever that “thing” is that you do in your free time, do it. In Him we live and move and have our being… [Acts 17:28] so make sure you are LIVING and moving and HAVING YOUR BEING.

[Deut 5:33] “You shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess.
